Patrick LOVES to play in the snow. I feel guilty that I"m not able to take him out very often, but this Winter has been very chilly and much too cold for Finley. We enjoy the play time when we can! |

Matt and Patrick fishing inside a restaurant in Okoboji. Yes, you can fish even in Winter. It's great entertainment. Patrick loved it, but I was so nervous he would fall into the water while looking for the fish... |

Thrush...We had to deal with this for Finley's first 12 weeks. :( |

Enjoying a "nice day" outside in February. |
February was an uneventful month for our family. I was home on maternity leave...not that that's easy work! The kids and I were able to visit Grandma and Grandpa "K" for a few days. As always the kids had a great time being spoiled by the grandparents and cousins. While I was able to get some much needed rest.
Our home was officially put onto the market in January. Due to the many home showings we have left Hobbs with Grandma and Grandpa K. He loves it but we feel guilty. Patrick misses his "brown doggie".
We went on a small vacation to Okoboji. By small I mean short, the kids didn't seem to enjoy it. Patrick acted up and Finley cried the whole car ride. Not so much fun for us. When we got home we did find out Finley had an ear infection. Not good for her, but glad to know it won't be a regular occurrence during car rides. While we were up there we enjoyed a few nice meals and even got to fish. There is a local bar/restaurant that has an opening cut in the ice so fishing is open year 'round.
Since Finley was 2 weeks old we have been dealing with her "Thrush" on her tongue. No medicine seemed to resolve it, but thankfully it didn't seem to bother her. Since this was so long-term it eventually caused us to visit a Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines. This was so scary as a parent. The possibilities of diagnosis' included Immunoglobulin Deficiencies, Leukemia and Cystic Fibrosis. These are not things that parents ever want to think about.... Our prayers were answered and she tested negative for just about everything. After some strong doses of medicine we cured the thrush and got a clean bill of health! Thanks to everyone for their prayers....it worked!
I went back to work February 28th. It wasn't easy to leave the kiddos, but I was ready to get back to a routine. Work was also very ready for me to come back, we had been very busy. The kids are doing well back at daycare.
Counting our blessings!! Enjoy
