2 teeth... Iowa wins... family fun... and a visit from friends!

It was a great Labor Day weekend at the Houser house. We were home for the first time in awhile. We caught up on our much needed rest, it had been a very busy week for Matt and I.

I am in charge of picking out a new ultrasound machine for the hospital, we have gotten so busy that my co-worker and I are in need of a second ultrasound suite. It will help our case-load out tremendously as we are also now actively assisting our general surgeon with a new type of breast biopsies in surgery every Monday afternoon. I love Interventional Radiology, so this is right up my alley...but it has kept me very busy! One more week of demos and then we are off to the price negotiations.

Matt has had a busy week with work, since he also covers Storm Lake (a 2 hour drive each way) and had to be there a lot this week. But this week will be much better...for both of us especially since my mom will be here through the week to watch Patrick (our daycare provider is on vacation again).

Over this past weekend, Patrick got his second tooth (bottom left). Believe me we were ready for it, he has suddenly started waking up at 3 AM every morning this week...since the tooth finally came through we are back to sleeping the whole night :) THANK GOODNESS!!

You can see by the photos below that Matt decked Patrick out in all of his Iowa gear to watch the big season opener. GO HAWKEYES, though UNI is his alma mater he is a Hawkeye at heart. No the game wasn't pretty, but all that counts is a win in the end.

We had some friends over for dinner on Saturday they all have babies within 3 weeks of Patrick. We had a lot of fun, the boys seemed very curious of each other. It was a good time for all of us.

We have also discovered the Ledges State Park south of Boone. It was a great time outdoors together as a family. We took turns wearing Patrick on our backs in his carrier, he seemed to enjoy the view... he would hold on to our shirts and chat at the trees and birds. We went hiking twice over the weekend... it's a great workout and fun family time.

Our first hike at Ledges State Park

No he's really chewing on everything...

Patrick, Ian and Maddox (Patrick's best buddies, all born within 3 weeks of each other)

chew, chew, chew...

They look like the 3 Stooges here...

GO HAWKEYES!!
